“Rebel” By: Catherine Brown

Rebel

(Verse 1)           Hop down out the window. Don’t let yourself get caught. Run far running fast trying not to get caught. They seem to be always after you calling you the “Bad kid.” Let’s put them in their place. You’ve always been an outcast never really fitting in. Being the first to start the fight but the first to end it. They’re always talking smack behind your back but when they come face to face they back down. (Chorus)   You’re the perfect rebel. No one talks down to you. You’re the perfect rebel. Striking fear into your competition. You’re the perfect rebel (Rebel x2)       (Verse 2)      So, you don’t get caught you jump the fence running fast. Turn the corner! Don’t look back! They won’t find you in town square. (Chorus)         You’re the perfect rebel. No one talks down to you. You’re the perfect rebel. Striking fear into your competition. You’re the perfect rebel (Rebel x2)          (Bridge)    Now that you’re safe you’re thinking back to the parents who always turned their back. Now that you’re safe you think to all those friends who talked behind your back. Now that you’re safe you realize that.             (Chorus) You’re the perfect rebel. No one talks down to you. You’re the perfect rebel. Striking fear into your competition. You’re the perfect rebel (Rebel x2)

“If I’m Going to Hold Fear” By: Holly Wagner

If I’m Going to Hold Fear
Fear
You think you are entitled to be your own kind of beast?
That lurks in my shadows, under my bed, and in every corner I turn?
Well your thinking, can stop at my door.
You can go back from where you came.
If I’m going to hold fear, its going to be my own.
I’ll be the one in control.
I won’t be under your thumb.
You will be under mine,
becoming a beast at my will.
Bet against me.
See where that will get you but I cannot promise you mercy, if that is the path you choose.
Safety you won’t ever have to seek if you work with instead of against me.
That will be a guarantee.
Your days of lurking in the shadows and in the thoughts of mankind can come to an end.
Fear you are needed but you will not be in control.
Trim yourself back,
learn civil ways.
Just as we did years ago.
When the world was the one in control, and we followed its rules.
In the act of all civil You can learn your own kind one day.
Today though, you will follow mine.
Fear you are not entitled to become your own beast, not today.

” My Scars” By: Holly Wagner

My Scars
I admire my scars
Even the ones I didn’t make a mark.
There’s nothing I do to whisk them away.
They are here to stay.
They count every story I’m willing tell.
Every battle of the heart, all the victories I’ve pulled myself through.
My scars aren’t a flaw in my skin. No, they fit right in.
I’m not perfect, they remind so.
One day In the breath that I’ll be braver than today. I will write their stories not for the heaven’s glory.
Rather, to know of who I was.
By remembering who I was yesterday
I can embrace tomorrow with the grace of today.
Even if my scars are uglier in the seed of their tales.
I love them so.
So, I owe it all to my scars.
For the memory and for the stories,
Just waiting to be told.

“Break” By: Rhiley Doezema

“Break”

Slipping away with every day

Passion dies in this sea of lies and copycats

Holding on tightly to your warmth, still your touch is ice-cold

I don’t need you, I don’t want you anymore

Love is blind, love is a lie dressed in white

I’ll break away from your captivity, I’ll run away from normality

All that is safe and secure frightens me

Ashes will fall like snow, veil of black deceives the world

Angels have died in the storm

I am no better, we spread the cancer throughout this realm

Sunrise still falters, try to scream and cry, no one will hear you, no one will need you anymore

Break the cycle free yourselves from these shackles, mortality mocks us all in the end.
